One of Dr. Jade's all time favorite plants during cough, cold and flu seasons. The bark is used to make medicine. Wild cherry is mostly used in cough formulas because of its mildly sedative properties, expectorant and mild cough-suppressing effects.

Conventional treatments for SAD (Seasonal Affect Disorder) are well known. What is less often discussed is the value of radical acceptance. Instead of fixing our brains, fixing our experience and fixing our discomfort, consider that maybe it is a seasonal calling to turn inwards and recharge. Plant of the day: Artemesia annua

Known as sweet wormwood and quinghao has been used in Chinese medicine as an antimalarial for more than 2000 years. It's used with fevers, inflammation, joint pain, headaches, some cancers and nonflagellated parasites. Lux Wellness carries artemisinin annua emulsion from Quicksilver Scientific to support digestion, inflammation, fevers.

Lastly, artemesia absinthium is used as an ingredient in the spirit absinthe as well as some other alcoholic beverages.
